Singapore- City in a Garden ☘

The current global scenario spurs an era of Virtual travel. Reminiscing my post ‘post-graduation’ getaway mega-vacation that revitalized me after a grueling 8+ years of med-school!⭐

B.t.w… this is an airport🙄 The Changi airport was so huge I could have spent the weekend there. But I had a pick up waiting so I just breezed right through it!

.

My hosts were amazing. They were family friends settled there and happy to meet someone from their home country. I was grateful to have gracious hosts who also proved to be excellent tour guides.

There’s no way you can avoid spotting the crazy Marina Bay. How did they rest a Ship on top of 3 buildings!😳 It’s a restaurant, I’m told.

This is the iconic Mer-lion (Mermaid + lion?) landmark, a national symbol of theirs & also a spot for trick photography🎈📷

I learnt that Singapore has a lot of “reclaimed land” to expand its existing limited area.

A Healing Garden amidst a Concrete jungle ✦ After a couple of days of walking around the city, we needed a green break. The Botanic Gardens were so relaxing. I spotted some unique flora, including the Pitcher plant (Nepenthes species; the pitcher is a modified leaf that captures insects!), some weird trees and wild flowers.

While Singapore is a melting pot for the whole of Asia, it has a dedicated place called ‘Little India’ where there are Indian restaurants, shops & places of worship. Nonetheless, I can’t help confessing that I missed India a little even while there for a short while. I’m grateful for the opportunity to visit & expand my vision😇
